In Greene County magistrate court a judgment was entered June 21 against Jacob Arthur Ore of Jefferson on a charge of theft- fifth degree. Ore was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. He must pay $3 restitution to Kum & Go for two packages of breast cancer awareness bands he stole. Court costs were $124.50
A judgement was entered against Glen Allen Vetter of Denison on a charge of criminal mischief- fifth degree. Vetter was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. He must pay $150 victim restitution and $77 court costs.
A judgment was entered in a case initiated in district court against Joseph Thomas Romeo II of Jefferson in which he was charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness. Romeo pleaded guilty to an amended charge of assault- simple. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail. The jail time was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. A judgment was entered for a $65 fine with a $22.75 surcharge. He must also pay $300 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $176.50 court costs.
A judgment was entered in a case initiated in district court against Aaron Joseph Skalla of Jefferson in which he was charged with assault causing bodily injury. Skalla pleaded guilty to an amended charge of assault- simple. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail. All but two days was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. Skalla was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. He must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined and $121 court costs.
